Wanting You

In the stillness of the night
The thoughts pass through my mind
They seem so very different
Still a common thing I find
You’re in every one of them
Your presence I do share
But how can one man want someone
Who simply is not there
Call it wishful thinking
Or just call it plain insane
But why I want you so much
Is something I can’t explain
And every time I see you
You look better than before
I try to look away
But I just simply can’t ignore
Your walk, your talk, your hair, your glare
It’s your own little style
But I think what’s best about you
Is the beauty in your smile
It fills me with a happiness
That makes my spirits lift
I never thought that wanting you
Would ever be like this
