“Searching” by Kathleen Hesher

As I feel the fear welling up inside of me

Its cold icy fingers squeezing my faith and making it falter

The fear engulfing me with soul chilling doubt

Beseeching help, I reach out

Reach out for that hand to hold

Only to find that I have grabbed my own

As the doubt subsides, it occurs to me that

I have been there all along

My faith strengthens

With every waking moment I will listen

Listen to that voice that gives me peace

And the faith to hold my own hand

Making me tall and proud with courage to know

I have been here all along……
