USA TODAY

Sometimes we feel accepted
Sometimes we feel rejected
Sometimes we have two candidates that no one wants elected

Sometimes we tend to swerve
When someone strikes a nerve
And question those with titles that are marked protect and serve

Sometimes we kill each other
And black lives matter, brother
Sometimes we need to realize we all come from a mother

And if our generation
Sees the history of our nation
We’d come to realize we’re here because of immigration

From our children, we want more
So we teach them common core
Now “Parents just don’t understand,” just like it was before

Sometimes we scream for mercy
Our lives are topsy-turvy
But we’re the ones who are creating all this controversy

Sometimes we lose our way
In what we do and say
But we can change the headline of the USA TODAY
